Christmas Roombox

This Christmas roombox was made from a shoe box, so it packs away easily when I pack up the Christmas decorations. The tree was from a shop in Edinburgh called Ibsens, which has unfortunately now closed down. The tree was undecorated, so I decorated it with thin strips of ribbon, translucent beads, and crackers that I made myself.

The chair was made from a kit in a magazine, and I covered it with some patterned fabric I had in my scraps box. The chair set the colour scheme for the whole room. The stockings are replicas of the ones my mum made for me and my brother when we were children. There is a sleigh piled high with presents (including a bottle of wine) and beside it are robins - like the ones my mum made from pompoms.

Christmas cake

Model a cake from white Fimo, making the top textured. Add holly leaves and berries. Cut a strip of red paper and make small snips into the long edges with scissors. Wrap around the cake. Cover a square of mount board with tinfoil, and place the cake on top.

Candle wreath

Bend a length of glittery green pipecleaner into a circle. Glue small beads at intervals around it. Make candles from translucent Fimo moulded around white thread.

Robins

Glue a small brown ball of felt on top of a red one. Use a white pen or white paint to make eyes on the brown ball. Cut two wings from a sheet of brown felt, and glue on either side of the red ball.
