Charles Brelan’s father. Navigator on the first Mars mission. Died on the Mars mission after contracting a space virus. Took part in many other missions.

Studying Chemistry and Biotechnology. From Brent Cross. 20 years old. Her parents split up when her mother ran off with a social worker who has two children. Her mother is still on Earth and may be pregnant. She arrived on the Ilea when her father took a job as a technician on the Helium 3 ship on the other side of Ganymede so that he could earn enough money to buy a house in France. She has no brothers or sisters.

Born 1/7/2027 at Kasserstrasse 59, Frankfurt. He is 6ft 1in tall with blonde hair, green eyes and dark eyebrows. He is a Computer Technician whose only qualification is Comp Tech 3. On parole after stealing a spacesuit belonging to Paul Fitzroy Drummond on Mars. His father was in prison for 10 years and his mother worked behind the bar in a club. Intends to make a fortune on Mars.
Given the post of temporary bursar on the Ilea by de Grecy. Married to Stefan Brinker, but he threw her out after the journey from Earth to Callisto. Was brought up on a pig farm in Warwickshire.

Lives in the Dome. Often heard to utter “Make way for a naval officer”. Eliot had him sent from Space Colony. Brought to the Jupiter system at the same time as the Stardust Cafe’s cockatoo which later died.

Space traffic control officer in Space City. Seconded to work for Daedalus. Has one plastic leg, but limps on the other one due to rheumatism in his knee.
Commander Kenneth Kitebrook (Cats)
Daredevil space pilot who earned his nickname ‘Cat’s eyes’ by dodging space debris.
Graduated from Cranfield in 2042. Was involved with Rosie.
Natasha Kovitsky
Became a third officer on her 21st birthday, the youngest third officer in the fleet. She was a second officer at 22 on a Callisto freighter. Had independent command of a Centaur shuttle at the age of 23. Won a scholarship to space school when she was 18. At school she was the Head Girl and captain of tennis and lacrosse. Her qualifications include Comm Skills 9 and Nav 8. She is six months younger than Mercedes.

Daedalus worker.
Born 20.2.2024. Australian but has European nationality. From Melbourne. Spent most of his life in England.
The Ilea’s First Officer. Has been on the Ilea 5 years.
Was severely exposed to radiation 3 years previously. He is strictly forbidden to go outside the ship in high radiation conditions. Even 30 seconds could be fatal. He has been given medication to protect against leukaemia.
Was engaged when he was on the navigation course at Cairns. She was from South Victoria. A week after he got his first 12 month posting to Moonstation she wrote him a letter breaking off the engagement.
Has a brother, Rodney, whose last known address is Mariner Valley on Mars, and a sister. His father owns a petrol station. His father and little sister are still in Melbourne.
Wants to go on the Daedalus mission and has applied for various Daedalus posts but been turned down.
Interested in history and pirates.
Dr Paul Lockwood
Born in 2021. His parents Mr and Mrs Neil Lockwood live in Leatherhead, Surrey. Replaced Harriet Bullock as Principal of Columbus College when she was in quarantine with the MV14 virus. Was only given 4 hours notice of his transfer to the Ilea. Previously he was working for Daedalus where he was 8 months into designing a closed loop life support system.
Studying Further Maths and Advanced Computer Science. Probably of Scottish descent - her grandmother has a recipe for haggis. Her parents are in Space City/on Mars?. An only child. Aged 16. From New ...?

Left Earth with his parents when he was 5 and came to Callisto. Orphaned when he was 7 - his parents were killed instantly when a meteorite hit the dome (before a protective shield was fitted). There is a memorial to his parents in Space City.
